On July 18th, 2019, Redditor laurent987 posted another meme based on the scene, using the former template, which gained over 42,600 upvotes in two days (shown below, right). On July 15th, 2019, Twitter user tweeted a meme using a different two-panel format of the scene which gained over 2,200 retweets and 10,100 likes in four days (shown below, center). On May 27, 2019, the Facebook page Liberty Memes 10x posted a two-panel object labeling meme based on the scene, which gained 74 likes (shown below, left). The alarm clock bounces back from a wall and hits Squidward in the back of his head, breaking it into bits of pieces. The alarm clock bounces back from the bed and flies under Squidward. Until July 2019, the image saw a moderate use in memes, appearing in humorous posts on DeviantArt, Funnyjunk, Tumblr and Reddit (examples shown below). SpongeBob hides under the covers to prevent himself from getting hit. On February 3rd, 2013, Facepunch user Daniel Smith posted the earliest known meme based on the image, referencing "Late" post rating feature of the forum. After SpongeBob destroys two clocks, Squidward reveals a closet filled entirely with alarm clocks.
